Heather and Stefano, a lovely couple living in London, pulled off a vibrant yet relaxed reception at a stunning Villa set among the Langhe hills in Piedmont, northern Italy, after their civil wedding officiated in the magnificent Grinzane Cavour Castle, one of the best preserved manor in the whole Italian peninsula. Stefano was born in Italy and they are both in love with the amazing views of this region, with miles of green vineyards as protagonists. Their desire was a dinner on the lawn, inside the beautiful greenhouse marquee set in the middle of the villa lawn. The most natural choice for me was to create something very natural, enhancing green in contrast with a wooden table without linens. The couple opted for a palette of green hues, including limes styled alongside light olive tones. "We wanted the day to feel warm, relaxed and centered on our family and friends," Heather said. They are both outdoors enthusiasts, so paying tribute to nature was essential for Heather and Stef, and organic elements, such as fresh herbs, wildflowers, olive leaves, seasonal fruits and wooden accents were woven throughout. Panels of airy linen gave the expansive space a note of whimsy and an ethereal flair. After the wedding ceremony, guests showered the newlyweds in dried petals, then headed to the reception place for dinner and dancing. We brought the beauty of the outdoors in, transforming the greenhouse into an inviting romantic scene, with bundles of white hydrangeas, olive leaves, eucalyptus, amaranth, lavender small olive and lemon trees and more bringing the classic place settings to life. Votive candles housed in transparent glass vases cast a warm glow over the tables, creating a sense of intimacy and ambiance. It turned out wonderfully, and our guests loved them," Heather said. The menu paid tribute to the season with dishes from the best Italian tradition, paired with stunning local wines. A fantastic DJ playing the best of dancing and a very well equipped open bar ensured a high-energy atmosphere all night. A tip from us: "Look at unconventional venues. Not everything needs to be all-inclusive. Many weddings really benefited from having multiple moving pieces and aspects that came from a variety of vendors.
